Black-tailed Godwit Resting on One Leg

"This Black-tailed Godwit was taking it easy, resting with one leg up in it's feathers, squawking and letting me shoot as many photos as I wanted and get as close as I wanted (this is full-frame, no cropping done at all). One chilled out 'Grutto' (the Dutch name for this bird)! In having said all of that, it was most probably diverting my attention from it's young, which was in a field on the other side of the road in the Uitkerkse Polders, Belgium and keeping an eye out for them!"

John says, " I have always been a great lover of nature, but it wasn't until I moved to Belgium nine years ago that I rediscovered the great outdoors and started to photograph wildlife. I have been an avid fan of photography for as long as I can remember.
